JLC Custom Outfitters has been operating now for over 15 years.   Our business was originally started by Jim as JLC Custom Leather back in the Seventies. Jim turned his background in the show arena into a sideline to make chaps and do saddle repairs. He showed Appaloosas and Quarter Horses, and gradually had to choose to focus on the business of making some of the finest chaps on the market. He is a real expert when it comes to proper fit, and   excellent workmanship.

Karen and Jim met when they were both working in the film and television industry at Old Tucson Studios. Karen was the wardrobe/costume designer at the park, and Jim worked regularly as an extra/rider on many shows filmed there. Through their collaborative efforts, JLC Custom Outfitters soon became the popular enterprise it is now. Their customers hail from all over the U.S. and some in Canada and Europe. The fine quality of their products is evident when they are seen on riders of all types, at local National and World level competition.
